The domestically produced colorimeter for petroleum products was developed by several experts in petroleum product testing in 1980 and gradually introduced to the market. It is a visual instrument capable of detecting petroleum products such as lubricating oil, kerosene, and diesel. Especially in the case of widespread use of additives and the market for inferior oil products, the convenience and practicality of colorimeter detection have been recognized and used as an important auxiliary detection method. 1. This instrument consists of a standard color palette, an observation optical lens, a light source, and a colorimetric tube.
2. The light source uses a 220V, 100W, 2750 ± 50K internally frosted milk shell bulb as the standard light source. The light from the light source is filtered through a milky white glass plate and a daylight filter 33 glass plate, and the spectral characteristics of the standard light obtained are similar to this light. The standard light passes through a flat mirror and prism to form two parallel beams, which are of the same size and shape *, and can be uniformly irradiated on the sample of the colorimetric tube on the color glass plate of the standard color disc at the same time.
3. There are 26 Φ 14 light holes on the standard color palette, of which 25 are sequentially equipped with standard color glass sheets with color numbers 1-25. The 26th hole is blank, and the color palette is rotated by the handwheel on the right side of the instrument for selecting the correct equivalent color during colorimetric testing. The standard color glass color on the color palette should be calibrated using a colorimetric solution as the calibration standard color.
4. The colorimetric tube is a colorless flat bottomed glass tube with an inner diameter of 32 millimeters and a height of 120-130 millimeters. The colorimetric tube is placed in the small cover position on the top of the instrument.
5. The observation eyepiece consists of a concave mirror and a dividing grid. Two semi-circular colors can be seen simultaneously in the eyepiece, with the color on the left being the sample color. The SH/T0168 standard B3 specifies that the validity period of standard color chips is six months. Why? Due to the limitations of the conditions at that time, some of the produced color chips contained phosphoric acid components, which could deteriorate and fade in the air for about six months, making it impossible to detect the correct color of the oil. Therefore, it was necessary to test every six months. If it did not meet the standard requirements, the color chips should be adjusted or replaced before use.
